Doctor Enrique Contreras Montiel is a Professor and researcher at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM), Xochimilco Campus, with over 40 years of experience.
His research topics range from social policy, growth, and economic development; microeconomics, economic structure, and dynamics concerning fiscal policy performance; to urban economics and environment.
He has worked professionally in Advisory and Consulting: Social and environmental sectors of the federal public administration (INDESOL, SEDESOL, DIF, IMSS, SEMARNAT, CONANP), as well as for several states of the Mexican Republic (Veracruz, Hidalgo, Aguascalientes, Colima, Oaxaca, State of Mexico, Mexico City, Morelos).
He has carried out regional studies of development and territorial, urban, and environmental planning formulation of development programs and plans at different levels of public administration.
Professor Contreras has published more than 25 refereed articles in specialized journals, participated in more than 30 congresses and academic colloquiums, published more than half a dozen popular books, and has published close to a thousand journalistic articles in national newspapers. He has participated in more than 35 national and international congresses and colloquia.
