Professor Rosalinda Arriaga Navarrete received her Ph.D. in Financial Economics from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and her undergraduate degrees in Economics and Sociology from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Iztapalapa Campus. She is a Professor in the Department of Economics at UAM Iztapalapa Campus. She has published several research articles on topics of inter-industrial analysis, foreign trade, sectoral economics, and financial economics; she is the author of the book: Wealth effect and its macro-financial interrelations, an analysis of the factors that influenced the real estate crisis; she is also co-author of the books: The international monetary system and the State as an economic object. She is a member of the National System of Researchers (CONACYT), Level I.
Since 1990 she has published articles and book chapters that offer a sectorial analysis of international trade with the application of diverse methodologies, such as the analysis of product input with endogenous consumption in order to evaluate its impact on employment and wages for the Mexican economy. Subsequently, on regional economics in our country, with special emphasis on the wage and employment disparity present in the industrial structure of the central states of the republic.
In the last ten years, she has published research articles about macroeconomic and financial relations in the line of financial economics and asset valuation to analyze real estate cycles and their interrelations with macroeconomics and financial markets.
Recently her co-authored publications are on the economics of culture and the tourism sector. The contribution focuses on highlighting that from macroeconomics and inter-industry analysis it is possible to estimate economic impacts through input-output models to contribute to the design and intervention through public policies. In international economics, the papers contribute to strengthen the study of macroeconomic relationships underlying foreign trade models. In the line of financial economics, the analyses refer to international diversification investment strategies and the links between monetary policy and stock markets, with the application of various methodologies.
