Professor Juan Manuel Herrera Caballero holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Studies from the Economics Department of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Iztapalapa Campus. He holds a B.A. in Social Psychology from the Faculty of Philosophy and Literature of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), and a Master's degree in Philosophy of Science from the UAM Iztapalapa Campus.

He is currently Head of the Division of Social Sciences and Humanities at UAM Iztapalapa Campus, and at the same Campus, he teaches in the Bachelor's Degree in Social Psychology and in the Graduate Program in Organizational Studies. He worked at the Mexican Petroleum Institute from 1988 to 2008 as a researcher in the areas of knowledge management and technological intelligence, as well as innovation and technology transfer.

He was the coordinator of the Bachelor's Degree in Social Psychology at UAM Iztapalapa Campus between 2008 and 2015. He is currently Director of the Division of Social Sciences and Humanities. He is a member of the Mexican Network of Researchers in Organizational Studies and of the Research area "Psychosocial Processes of Collective Phenomena" at UAM Iztapalapa Campus. He has developed research on strategic networks in institutions, institutional development and change, knowledge management, technological intelligence in productive organizations, among others.
