Doctor Carolina Campos Muñiz is a Professor at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Iztapalapa Campus, in the Department of Health Sciences, Health Sciences Division. She is a biologist graduated from the Faculty of Sciences of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM); in the same University, she completed a Master's degree in Science with a specialization in Cell Biology and a Ph.D. in Biotechnology at the UAM Iztapalapa Campus, in addition to a Master's degree and Ph.D. in Education.

She has trained 30 students at the undergraduate level and two at the graduate level, has presented 50 papers at national and international conferences, and has published 15 articles in international indexed journals and two chapters in books.

At the undergraduate level, she has taught Cell Biology, Biochemistry I and II, Animal Physiological Biochemistry I, General Biology and Biochemistry; Cell Biology, General Biology, Comprehensive Laboratory, Introduction to Research I and II, Research Seminar I, II and III, Experimental Work I, II and III, Research Project I, II and III, Cellular Transport and Communication, Instrumental Methods, Protein Structure, Cell Structure and Function I and II and Protein Purification. At the master's level, Selected Topics in Medicine and Biology I and Selected Topics III (protein structure).

She has received the XVIII Teaching Award 2009 from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Iztapalapa Campus. She is currently carrying out research work on Raman spectroscopy and teaching of experimental sciences.
