Profile

Professor Luis Armando Ayala is a Biologist from the Escuela Nacional de Estudios Profesionales Iztacala, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). Master in Marine Sciences from the Instituto de Ciencias del Mar y Limnología. UNAM. Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM). International Diploma "Ecological economics in tropical coastal ecosystems", Course on Fisheries Bioeconomy: A precautionary approach. International Diploma "Dynamics and Evaluation of Fishery Resources", Simulation models in landscape ecology; theory and practice and the course Analysis and simulation of ecosystems: Tools for research and management of natural resources.

He has published more than 40 scientific papers as book chapters and articles in national and international peer-reviewed journals. He has 150 papers presented in national and international specialized scientific events. He has participated as responsible and/or advisor in 25 research and productive projects. Professor of the modules Analysis of Ecological Systems and Environmental Analysis and Planning of the Bachelor's Degree in Biology, and Ecological and Economic Foundations for the Use and Conservation of Biotic Natural Resources of the Master's Degree in Applied Ecology. UAM Xochimilco Campus, to date. Advisor of 66 social service projects. Director or member of the Master's Tutorial Committee of 16 students at the Instituto Politécnico Nacional, Facultad de Ciencias UNAM, Universidad Autónoma de Campeche and Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana Xochimilco and Iztapalapa Campuses. Director or member of the Doctoral Tutorial Committee of 10 students at UAM and UNAM. Certified accreditor of the Bachelor's Degree programs in Biology. CACEB. May 2007 to date.

Within his University Participation he has worked as Coordinator of the Bachelor's Degree in Biology. Division of Biological and Health Sciences (DCBS), UAM Xochimilco Campus (1991 - 1994). Head of the Department "Man and his Environment". Division of Biological and Health Sciences, UAM Xochimilco Campus (1994 -1996). Head of the Departmental Area "Systems and Ecological Processes of Tropical Aquatic Resources (SPERAT)" (2012 - 2014). Coordinator of the Master's Program in Applied Ecology, UAM Xochimilco Campus. DCBS. (2014 - 2018). Academic Secretary of the Division of Biological and Health Sciences, UAM Xochimilco Campus November 15, 2018 to date.
