Profile
Professor Mina Konigsberg Fainstein was born in Mexico City. She received her B.S. and M.S. degrees in Experimental Biology from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) and her Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the same university where she is now Professor and Head of the Bioenergetics and Cellular Aging Laboratory of the Health Sciences Department.
She completed a sabbatical stay at the Barshop Institute for Aging and Longevity studies. Health Science Center. University of Texas, San Antonio, with a Fulbright and CONACyT grant. She has published several scientific and popular articles and has supervised theses of undergraduate and graduate students.
She is a member of the Society for Redox Biology And Medicine, American Aging Association, Academia Mexicana de las Ciencias and the National System of Researchers, level III.
