Professor Edelmira Ramírez Leyva holds a Bachelor's Degree in Dramatic Literature and Theater, a Master's Degree in Art History and History and a Ph.D. in Ibero-American Literature from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM).

She is a Professor and Researcher in the Department of Humanities of the Division of Social Sciences and Humanities of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Azcapotzalco Campus, in which she participated in the creation of that Department, the Area of History of Mexico, the Research Group of Historical and Social Practices of Writing and Orality and the postgraduate degree in Historiography.
