Profile
Professor Enrique Guerra Manzo holds a Ph.D. in Social Science, with a major in Sociology, from El Colegio de México. Professor at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Xochimilco Campus. He is a member of the National System of Researchers.
For some time, he has been dealing with the figurationist sociology cultivated by Norbert Elias, both theoretically and empirically. Currently, his main area of interest is to explore from the figurationist sociology the links between cycles of violence, civilizational discourses, and peace building in Mexico, with special attention to the case of Michoacán and the following axes: violence, security and State; civil vigilantism; sense of honor and aggressive habitus.
