Doctor Norma Rondero López is a Professor and Researcher in the Department of Sociology at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Azcapotzalco Campus. She holds a Ph.D. in Social Studies, and Labor Studies from UAM Iztapalapa Campus and specializes in public policies for higher education. As of July 6, 2021, she was appointed Secretary General of UAM.
At the Azcapotzalco Campus she was the Coordinator of the Specialization in Sociology of Higher Education; General Coordinator of Academic Development; Campus Secretary; Head of the Department of Sociology and head of the Sociology of Universities Area; Coordinator of the Thematic Area of Higher Education and Science, Technology and Innovation at the Mexican Council for Educational Research (COMIE), of which she is also the Treasurer.
She has an extensive scientific and teaching career in the field of higher education and university management, which includes teaching courses in the Bachelor's Degree in Sociology, the Specialization in Sociology of Higher Education, and the Master's and Doctoral Program in Sociology of the Division of Social Sciences and Humanities of the Azcapotzalco Campus.
