Profile

Professor Eduardo Casas Hernandez is originally from Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico, and received his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Experimental Biology from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Iztapalapa Campus. Ph.D. in Experimental Biology at UAM Iztapalapa Campus. He received the University Merit Medal for his M.Sc. and Ph.

Professor of the Department of Health Sciences at UAM Iztapalapa Campus. Collaborator in the Cell Biology Laboratory in the project "Fertilization in mammals". He specializes in the study of the mammalian oocyte maturation process and the effects of xenobiotic agents in this process.

He has participated in the publication of 30 research articles in international peer-reviewed scientific journals, 11 book chapters, and two textbooks. He has given more than 90 lectures on scientific topics for different types of audiences, most of them at the invitation of the Mexican Academy of Sciences.

Member of the National System of Researchers, level I, 2013-2019. Teaching and thesis direction at undergraduate and graduate levels. He teaches Biochemistry, Cell Structure, and Function, Molecular Biology, Animal Cell Culture, and Reproductive Toxicology, among others.

He has the Diploma for Research for the social service project, the Teaching Award, UAM Iztapalapa Campus, in 2003 and 2006, the Diploma in Science Dissemination, UNAM, 2016, and is a Photography, Astronomy and Geology and Paleontology Amateur.
