Professor Laura Patricia Peñalva Rosales was born in Mexico City in May 1957; she studied Physics and Mathematics at the Superior School of Physics and Mathematics, Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN). Professional examination held on May 23, 1984, with the work "SERTEM (V.1). Package of programs for the application of Forecasting Methods to Time Series".

With a Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence from the Arturo Rosenblueth Foundation, A.C. Professional exam held on April 29, 1997, with the work "Neuro-fuzzy models for economic forecasting".

Doctorate in Organizational Studies, within the research line in Socio-Economic Management of Organizations, from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Iztapalapa Campus and Doctorat en Sciences de Gestion from the Université Jean Moulin, Lyon 3, France. Degree exam was held on July 7, 2006, with the work "Induction to Organizational Learning in the Public University for the development of linkage strategies with the productive sector". Excellent qualification by the UAM. Mention Très honorable avec felicitation du jury, by the University of Lyon. Professor-researcher at UAM since 1989.

She has taught various mathematics courses in the Bachelor's Degree in Administration: mainly: Linear Algebra, Differential Calculus, Probability, and Statistical Inference, Forecasting Models with Time Series, and Regression Analysis, corresponding to Modules IV to VII of this degree at UAM Xochimilco Campus.

She also teaches seminars at postgraduate level on the Methodology of Analysis and Socioeconomic Management of Organizations and Research Methodology, in the Master's Degree in Information Management of the Academic Improvement Program, as well as in the Postgraduate Degree in Organizational Studies at UAM, Iztapalapa Campus; courses in Algebra and Calculus, Statistics, Decision Making Techniques and Human Capital Workshops in the Master's Degree in Economics, Management and Innovation Policies at UAM Xochimilco Campus; and research methodology in the Master's Degree in Sustainable Societies at the same institution.

She has also been invited to give seminars for Professors on Research and Methodology, as well as on Methodology of Socioeconomic Analysis and Management at the Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes, Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Hidalgo, Universidad de Occidente in Los Mochis, Sinaloa and Universidad de la Sierra del Sur, in Miahuatlán, Oaxaca.

She participates in editorial committees of national and international journals and is a frequent guest speaker at various academic events.

She has been a faculty representative four times before institutional collegiate groups, Coordinator of the Bachelor's Degree in Administration (2008-2010), Head of the Research Area "Analysis and Socioeconomic Management of Organizations" (2014-2016), and Coordinator of Graduate Studies of the Division of Social Sciences and Humanities, from November 2016 to September 2019.

She has more than 40 academic publications, frequently participates in various specialized events, and has experience participating in multidisciplinary groups to address associated external projects, mostly related to the evaluation of social programs.

His current research focuses on the topic of "Industry 4.0, implications for education, employment and sustainability".
