Profile

Doctor Alicia Paz González Riquelme, was born in Chile. She is a Professor at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Xochimilco Campus. She studied undergraduate, master's, and the doctoral degrees at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), obtaining honorable mention in both postgraduate studies.

She has focused her research work on housing issues, typological studies and topics related to urban architectural spatiality, with the emphasis today, in micro urbanism and corners.

From 2012 to 2015 she obtained the recognition of SNI I. She has published four books: Ordenando el interior. Arquitectura, Arquitecturas de recorrido, Valparaíso como habitación urbana, Las Esquinas. Lugar y habitabilidad, as well as some book chapters and a good number of articles both nationally and internationally.

From 2015 to April 2019, she was Head of the Area of Conservation of Cultural Heritage, of the Master and Ph.D. in Sciences and Arts for Design, UAM Xochimilco Campus.

She has been teaching for more than 30 years, in the areas of Theory and Design Workshop in the different levels that make up the curriculum of the Bachelor of Architecture at UAM Xochimilco Campus.

She has participated in the Diploma of Interior Architecture at the Graduate Studies Division of the UNAM.

She also works as a thesis tutor in Master's and Doctoral programs in the Graduate Program of the Division of Sciences and Arts for Design (CyAD), UAM Xochimilco Campus, Mexico City.
