Profile
Dr. Rebeca Sosa is a graduate of the Faculty of Sciences, UNAM; with Master's and Doctorate degrees from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Iztapalapa Campus. Speciality in the study of the optical properties (spectroscopic techniques, absorption, emission, excitation and photoluminescence half-lives) of materials, fundamentally.
Topics of special interest, addressing problems related to advanced materials engineering and whose results have been published in 44 research articles in internationally refereed journals; with nearly three hundred citations. 3 Memoirs in extenso. 26 keynote lectures and 38 conferences on the dissemination of science, in specialized national and international events, 71 papers presented at national and international events. He has directed several Terminal Projects, master's theses and doctoral theses.
Dr. Sosa has taught several courses (231 courses) of Physics at the Bachelor's level, for 35 years in the Department of Physics, in the Division of CBI, UAM. Experimental Method I & II Mechanics & Fluids, Waves & Rotations, Fields, Electricity & Magnetism, Introduction to Spectroscopic Techniques, Optics, Wave Phenomena, Optics Laboratory, Advanced Experimental Physics I & II, Mechanics I. Graduate Courses: Selected Topics in Spectroscopy, Research Paper I, II, III, IV and V, Introduction to Research I.
Professor at the Universidad Iberoamericana, for 20 years. Teaching 185 courses at undergraduate level: Mechanics, Theory and Laboratory, Thermodynamics, Theory and Laboratory, Electricity, Theory and Laboratory. In addition to having given lectures and seminars, she is a speaker at several conferences within the "Sundays in Science" program of the Mexican Academy of Sciences.
