Professor Juan Antonio Castillo Lopez has more than 30 years of service at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Azcapotzalco Campus, teaching, doing research, and dissemination of culture. In teaching, he has taught several UEA in the teaching axis number six, called Procedural Law and Amparo. In research, author, and co-author of more than 30 articles published in magazines and author of personal and collective books. In the dissemination of culture, participating as a speaker at various conferences and forums nationally and internationally.

Member of the Program for the Professional Development of Teachers (PRODEP). Member of the Research Area of Human Rights and Social Legal Alternatives of the Department of Law of the UAM. Member of research networks such as the Network on Contemporary Forms of Slavery and Human Rights and the Incendio Network.

National Researcher, level I of CONACYT. Recipient of several awards and recognitions.
