Professor Aquiles Chihu Amparan holds a Ph.D. in Political and Social Sciences, (CIDHEM) Centro de Investigación y Docencia en Humanidades del Estado de Morelos. He has a Master's Degree in Anthropological Sciences (Social Anthropology), Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Iztapalapa Campus and in Political Science, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), Facultad de Ciencia Políticas y Sociales and a Bachelor's Degree in Social Anthropology, Escuela Nacional de Antropología e Historia (ENAH). Student of Umberto Cerroni at the University of Rome, Italy.

Professor at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana Iztapalapa Campus. Member of the National System of Researchers (SNI) level II. Director of the Political Communication Laboratory (UAM Iztapalapa Campus).

Outstanding publications: Editorial advisor (Advisory editor) of The Wiley-Blackwell Encyclopedia of Social and Political Movements (2013) in which he collaborated as Latin America coordinator, and also wrote the voice: "Earth's Color March". Author of individual books: La imagen de los candidatos presidenciales (Mexico, 2012) (2016); La imagen de los partidos políticos en México (2014); El framing de la prensa (2010); El framing del spot político (2010); El framing de los debates presidenciales en México (1994-2006) (2008); Gramsci y un nuevo paradigma en la concepción de la política (1991).

Coordinator of: The analysis of frames in the sociology of social movements (2006) and; Sociology of Identity (2002).
