Doctor Regina Leal Güemez is a Professor at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Iztapalapa Campus, Head of the Research Area of Systems Modeling in Economics and Management in the Department of Economics. Ph.D. in Management from the University of Western Sydney, Australia; Master in Finance with Honors from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) and a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the UAM.
She received the Endeavour International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (March 2007-February 2019) and the UWS International Award (March 2007-February 2019). She has been awarded the Desirable Profile, PROMEP (2005-2008), and PRODEP (2018-2021).
As a professor in the Department of Economics, she has taught several courses in Programming, Computer Workshop I and II, Computer Science, Selected Topics in Management Information Systems I and II, and Research Seminars I, II, and III in the Bachelor's Degree in Management, among others. She has also developed UUEEAA programs for the Bachelor's Degree in Administration and directed final projects of students of this degree on the research line of information technologies and administration.
She is co-author of the book "Fundamentos en Computación" (Ed. Trillas) and of a chapter of the title "Research in the Decision Sciences for Global Business. Best Papers from de 2013 Annual Conference" (Ed. Pearson Education); coordinator and author of issue 36: "Reflexiones acerca del estudio y análisis de las TI en las Organizaciones", of the Revista Administración y Organizaciones (UAM Xochimilco Campus). She has published chapters in collective books and articles in specialized journals related to the research lines of modeling and systems, the study of information technologies and collaboration, networks, and clusters. She has also participated in several national and international conferences presenting research results.
As academic staff at UAM, she has participated in various academic functions as a representative of the Department of Economics in the Divisional Council and the Academic Council, both of the Iztapalapa Campus. She has been the Coordinator of the General Trunk of the Bachelor's Degree in Administration. She was representative of the Area of Systems Modeling in Economics and Administration in the Editorial Committee of the Department of Economics, representative of the Department of Economics in the Editorial Board of the Division of Social Sciences and Humanities, and, currently, she is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal Administration and Organizations of the UAM Xochimilco Campus and a member of the Decision Sciences Institute.
