Dr. Alicia Cid Reborido holds an Honorary Doctorate (Doctor Honoris Causa) from Claustrum Doctoralis Universum Vitalis, a Ph.D. from the University of Barcelona, a Master's degree in Educational Sciences with a concentration in Administration and Research from Universidad del Valle de México, and a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana. She serves as a Full-Time Professor (Category C) in the Department of Basic Sciences at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana Unidad Azcapotzalco.

Her academic career centers on teaching and educational research in engineering, focusing on basic science education, holistic student development through a gender perspective, sustainable development, educational innovation, and the critical integration of digital technologies and generative artificial intelligence in higher education. She has participated in national and international projects and contributed to academic publications, books, book chapters, and conferences related to engineering education, chemistry, and higher education transformation. Furthermore, during 2023 and 2024, she participated in research activities within the Stories that Move project in collaboration with the Department of Research Methods and Diagnosis in Education (MIDE) at the Faculty of Education of the University of Barcelona.

In administrative leadership and editorial roles within the Division of Basic Sciences and Engineering (CBI) at UAM Azcapotzalco, she has served as President of the Editorial Committee of CONEXIÓN CBI Outreach Gazette since July 16, 2015. She was a member of the Divisional Editorial Committee from November 22, 2016, to January 15, 2021. Additionally, she served as Coordinator of the Interdisciplinary and Multidisciplinary Studies Program from February 2013 to April 2024, Coordinator of the Transdisciplinary Studies Program from October 1, 2010, to 2013, Coordinator of Outreach and Dissemination from March 11, 2010, to 2012, and Coordinator of the Basic Chemistry Thematic Group from 2009 to 2013.
