Professor Blanca Pérez García did her Bachelor in Biology, her Master's and Ph.D. in Biological Science at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). She was invited to work at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM), Iztapalapa Campus on February 1° 1975 in the Department of Biology. She is a professor with 45 years of service to the University and distinguished as a founding professor of the institution. She has taught courses at the undergraduate and post-graduate levels at the UAM Iztapalapa Campus, UNAM, and INECOL. She has trained human resources by directing two bachelor's, twelve master's, and ten doctoral theses and social services. She has participated in the implementation and design of the Master's Degree and the Doctorate Program, she was a member of the judging Commission of the Academic Staff in the Biological Science Area for three periods. I have been synodal of opposition exams at the UAM Iztapalapa Campus.

Professor Pérez is an expert in the field of Morphogenesis of the sexual phase of Pteridophytes, collection, storage, and culture of Polypodiophyta spores. The research group has established itself with interdisciplinary academic links with the Institute of Ecology (UNAM), Institute of Ecology (INECOL), Faculty of Sciences (UNAM), with extensive experience in disciplines such as fern ecophysiology, ecological interactions, applied electron microscope to gametophytes, Taxonomy and Floristics of ferns and related plants.

As a result, a hundred arbitrated and indexed articles have been published, nine book chapters, five Books and one awarded, 26 dissemination articles, four Book Reviews and prologues, ten book arbitrations, seventy arbitration of research articles, she has been invited to evaluate projects (CONACyt), in the Editorial Committee of Flora de Guerrero (Pteridophytes) Faculty of Sciences, UNAM. She has participated in internal academic events at the Iztapalapa Campus (Divisional Meetings, Internal Seminars, Symposiums organized by the Master's Degree). In national and international academic forums (sixty congresses with 130 poster presentations or oral presentations).

Scholarship holder of the General Directorate of Social Services of the UNAM, Scholarship holder of the Academic Personnel Training Program of the UNAM for her Master's studies, Scholarship holder of the O.E.A. for three years to develop his doctoral thesis (OTS, Costa Rica), she obtained the Gabino Barreda Medal awarded by the H. University Council (UNAM). Member of the O.E.A. Scholars Selection Commission. Member of the National System of Researchers Level I (1984 to date).

She has enjoyed the academic stimuli (BAP, EDI, and ETAS). I have done stay and taught courses abroad (Gray Herbarium Harvard, University of Massachusetts, Missouri Botanical Garden, Museum of La Plata Argentina, National Museum of Costa Rica and OTS, University of Colombia, Bosco Botanical Garden of the Dominican Republic, Garden Botanist of Cuba, La Serena of Institute of Ecology (Chile). I belong to various Botanical Societies and have coordinated congress, symposia, and colloquia.
