Doctor Alberto Rojas Hernández is a Chemist, FES-Cuautitlán, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), 1981, Master of Science (Analytical Chemistry), Faculty of Chemistry, UNAM, 1988, Doctor of Science, Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Iztapalapa Campus, 1995 and Post-Doctorate at Masaryk University, Department of Analytical Chemistry, Brno, Czech Republic. Brno, Czech Republic. 1996.
He has been a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM), Iztapalapa Campus, since 1986. He was a member of the Academic Council of UAM Iztapalapa Campus and of the Academic College of UAM (1998-2000). He was Head of the Department of Chemistry from 2000 to 2004, Head of the Analytical Chemistry Area from 2005 to 2018, and Coordinator of the Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from 2018 to date at UAM Iztapalapa Campus.
He was a member of the editorial board of the journals Contactos and Educación Química. He has been responsible for several research projects in CONACyT, a FIES-IMP project in Mexico, and an Alfa project of the European Community.
He has about 130 publications in prestigious national and international journals. He has supervised 54 theses at the undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels.
He is a referee for several quality international scientific journals. He is a member of the Mexican Chemical Society, the Mexican Association of Analytical Chemistry, and the American Chemical Society.
He received the Teaching Award 2000 at UAM Iztapalapa Campus and the Research Award 2007 (from UAM). He was also awarded the National Prize "Andrés Manuel del Río" 2011. He has been a member of the National System of Researchers since 1989 and is currently a National Researcher Level III.
