Profile

Eng. José María Daniel Estrada Guerrero holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the Faculty of Chemistry at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), graduating with Honors on his professional examination with the thesis "Electrodialytic Separation of Inorganic Ions with Selective Membranes." He completed Master's studies in Chemical Engineering and Doctoral studies in Metallurgy and Materials at the Escuela Superior de Ingeniería Química e Industrias Extractivas of the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (ESIQIE-IPN), where he also completed language studies in French and Portuguese, alongside basic coursework in Italian and Russian at CELEX.

He began his teaching career as a teaching assistant in the Faculty of Chemistry at UNAM within the Physics Section and subsequently served for five years as an adjunct professor in the Chemical Engineering program at FES Zaragoza Campus 2. In the private sector, he worked across multiple companies, serving as head of the quality control laboratory at Control y Promoción Industrial, S.A.; chemical engineer overseeing sales promotion and commercial control for cosmetics and food lines at Alberto Gironella, S.A.; research and quality control laboratory analyst at Productos H-24, S.A. de C.V.; shift process engineer in agroindustrial pesticide manufacturing at Química LUCAVA, S.A.; health compliance officer before the Ministry of Health at Cremería La Abuelita, S.A.; commercial research and promotion specialist for allotropic cells in industrial water treatment at Industrias Aquamin, S.A.; and technical advisor and promoter of industrial polarizers for process water treatment and fuel savings at Macosay y Asociados, S.A., serving clients such as La Costeña, Fábricas de Papel San Pablo, and Química Esteroidal.

In public higher education, he joined ESIQIE at IPN through a competitive civil service examination within the Electrochemistry Section as an Associate Professor, later joining the Basic Sciences Division in the Physical Chemistry and Chemistry Sections, where he currently teaches in the Electrochemistry and Corrosion Laboratories for Industrial Chemical Engineering students.

Following his Master's degree, he joined the Division of Basic Sciences and Engineering (DCBI) at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana Unidad Azcapotzalco in the Chemistry Area through competitive examination. At UAM Azcapotzalco, he has taught the Physical Chemistry of Materials course and its corresponding laboratory, authoring the instructional text "Physical Chemistry of Materials: Programmatic Theoretical Course," as well as laboratory manuals for "Partial Molar Volume," "Ideal Gas Processes in Closed Systems," and "Equilibrium in Metal-Metal Ion Systems." He designed and delivered self-paced courses via the Individualized Learning System (SAI) for the theoretical modules "Physical Chemistry of Materials" and "Applied Thermodynamics I," while also teaching "Chemical Reactions Laboratory," "Structure and Properties of Materials Laboratory," "Chemical Analysis Laboratory," "Chemical Equilibrium," and "Thermodynamics" within the Department of Basic Sciences.

At the institutional level, he has been an active member of the governing board of the Chemistry Area, contributing to the organization, promotion, and chairing of working sessions on materials chemistry across all editions of Chemistry Week and the International Congresses on Chemistry Teaching and Research (CIDIQ), promoting scientific and educational knowledge dissemination at national and international levels.
