Professor Ricardo Teodoro Páez Hernández studied his B.Sc. at the Escuela Superior de Física y Matemáticas, Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN) 1979-1984, his M.Sc. in Physics ESFM-IPN 1984-1986, with the Thesis: "Curzon-Ahlborn Cycle with nonlinear heat transfer" ESFM-IPN 1992 and his Ph.D. in Physics ESFM-IPN 1994-1996, with the Thesis "Thermodynamic Optimization of thermal machines and dynamic robustness of some biological systems".
He has worked as Professor of the Mathematics Academy at C.E.C. y T. No.1 - IPN 1980-1990 teaching Mathematics I - Mathematics VI courses. Professor of the Mathematics Academy at ESIME-ICE Zacatenco 1985-1994 teaching Mathematics I - Mathematics V. Professor of the Discrete Mathematics Area, Department of CB at Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Azcapotzalco Campus from 1989-1995, teaching all the Mathematics courses of the General Trunk CB. From 1995 to date, in the Physics Area of the Department of CB UAM Azcapotzalco Campus, teaching courses of the General Trunk and courses of the Professional Trunk of the Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Physics, currently attached to the Area of Physics of Irreversible Processes.
He has been a member of the Graduate Committee in Materials UAM Azcapotzalco Campus, November 2017 to February 2020. Titular Member of the Review Committee Basic Sciences Area, period 2015-2017, 2013-2015, 2010-2012 and 2008-2010.Coordinator of the Thematic Group of Experimental Physics and Advanced Instrumentation, 2009-2011. Member of the Engineering Physics Committee, June 1, 2010 to May 12, 2011. Head of the Area of Physics of Irreversible Processes from May 22, 2000 to January 5, 2004.
He has been a member of the SNI, Level I since 2009 to 2023.
In the development of his career, he has published several articles, among which are: "Comparative Performance Analysis of a Simplified Curzon-Ahlborn Engine".
