Professor José Ignacio Vega Luna holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering and a Master’s degree in Computer Science, both earned at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Azcapotzalco Campus.
Throughout his academic career, he has developed expertise in areas such as applications with microprocessors and microcontrollers, embedded systems, computer networks, computer architecture, operating systems, the Internet of Things (IoT), wireless communication, and robotic systems.
Since 1985, he has been part of the Department of Electronics at the Azcapotzalco Campus of the UAM, where he currently serves as a Professor Titular C. Additionally, he is the Head of the Digital Systems Area and leads various innovative research projects, including: “Object Recognition in a Mobile Robot Using Artificial Vision”, aimed at developing a system for object recognition, face detection, and facial recognition for a mobile service robot using artificial vision techniques; and “Security Algorithms for IoT Applications Using the MQTT Protocol”, focused on creating a secure communication channel for Internet of Things (IoT) applications using the MQTT protocol.
Over the past ten years, his academic contributions include 16 articles published in international journals, 53 in national journals, and 57 papers presented in international conference proceedings. Furthermore, he has contributed 11 papers to national conference proceedings and delivered 110 presentations at specialized events. His outreach work includes 8 articles, and he has served as a peer reviewer for 6 academic papers. He has also supervised 110 integration projects and 15 social service projects, demonstrating his dedication to academic training and technological development.
