PhD Pablo Gustavo Damián Matsumura is a Full Professor C, full time. Assigned to the Department of Reproductive Biology at UAM since 1983.
He studied a degree in Experimental Biology at UAM, and a Master's and PhD in Sciences (Biology) at UNAM. He obtained the Alfonso Caso Medal for his PhD. He did a postdoctoral stay in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, in the United States, thanks to a Rockefeller Foundation grant for 2 years.

He is an active member of the scientific societies of endocrinology in the USA (Endocrine Society) and Europe (Eurpean Society of Endocrinology). His papers presented at congresses have been awarded three times by these societies. He has obtained the UAM Research Award on three occasions. Eight of his undergraduate students have obtained the UAM Research Diploma.

His line of research is "Molecular endocrinology of reproductive tissue cancers".
He has been a member of the National System of Researchers (SNI) uninterruptedly since 1985, currently at Level 2. He has published more than 60 scientific articles in journals of international circulation, 5 book chapters. He is co-author of the Biochemistry I and Molecular Biology Practice Manuals. He has graduated more than 120 undergraduate, 40 master's and 18 doctoral students.

His experience in university management at UAM includes being coordinator of the Graduate Program in Experimental Biology and the Master's Program in Animal Reproductive Biology, as well as head of the Department of Reproductive Biology.

In teaching, he received the "MACHTIA" (1996) and "Maestra Irma Lira Galera" (2004) awards, which were granted by the students of the Bachelor's Degree in Experimental Biology to the "Best Teacher". She has received the UAM Teaching Award on 5 occasions.
