Profile

Professor Reyna Sánchez Estévez holds a Ph.D. in Social Sciences with a major in Communication and Politics from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Xochimilco Campus. She holds a Master's degree in Social Anthropology from the National School of Anthropology and History and a Bachelor's degree in Social Communication from the UAM Xochimilco Campus. She is a Professor of the Social Communication Career, of the Master's Degree in Communication and Politics, and of the Doctorate in Social Sciences of the Xochimilco Campus.

She has developed her work within her main lines of research, such as Symbols and collective representations in social movements. Public and private space, particularly the house. Housing and Popular Urban Movement, Social meanings.

She has written several books, book chapters and articles, such as the book "Symbols in social movements. The case of Superbarrio". TICOM No. 49, UAM Xochimilco Campus. Articles in specialized magazines such as "El derecho de habitar. Reflection on forced displacements and social movements" in Geografares. Revista do Programa do Pos-Graduacao em Geografía e do Departamento do Geografía da UFES, No. 22, 2016.
