Professor Gerardo Guadalupe Sánchez Ruiz is an Architectural Engineer and Master in Planning from the School of Engineering and Architecture of the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN), and Doctor in Urbanism from the Faculty of Architecture of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM).

Professor at the Division of Sciences and Arts of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Azcapotzalco Campus, and lecturer (three hours) at the Faculty of Architecture of the UNAM.

He has authored eight books and 23 book chapters on architecture and urbanism, the last one: Procesos urbanos en Latinoamérica en el paso del siglo XIX AL XX. Del higienismo al urbanismo (In press).

More than 100 articles in magazines and newspapers Excélsior, El Sol de México, El Financiero de México, and El Peruano de Perú: the last one: Ciudades latinoamericanas entre mediados del siglo XIX y principios del XX: del Higienismo al Urbanismo in Arquitectura y Urbanismo del CUJAE Vol. 41, Núm. 2 (2020).

He has offered conferences and courses in Mexico, and abroad the last one: Urban and Regional Planning. Past, Present and Future" in 1st. Latin American Doctoral School of Urban Studies in the Doctorate in Urban Management of the School of Architecture and Design of the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná in Curitiba.
