Professor Alberto Cedeño Valdiviezo is a member of the Department of Technology and Production, Cyad, at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Xochimilco Campus. He received a bachelor's degree in Architecture at the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN), in 1981; His master's degree in research and teaching at the faculty of Architecture at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) in 1996; A doctorate in urbanism from UNAM, in 2005. And finally, a postdoctorate at the University of Buenos Aires in 2007. He took the Restauro dei Monumenti e Centri Storici and Pianificazione Urbanistica Applicata alle Aree Metropolitane specialization courses in Italy from 1981 to 1983, and the Diploma in Public Administration from the Center for Economic Research and Teaching in 1992, and Management of PC Compatible Computers, at UNAM in 1996. He also studied Master's in Public Administration at IESAP and Master's in Urban Development at the College from Mexico.

He has published 31 articles, 12 book chapters, and 3 books, and participated as a speaker at several events. Currently he has approved by the UAM the research: Ecourbanismo, ecobarrios, urban resilience and urban historical landscape. The new way of understanding the planning of the city and the territory.

Since 2006 he has been a member of the National System of Researchers with Level I and has the Promep scholarship. Professionally he has worked as a restorer of monuments for the General Directorate of Sites and Monuments, as Auditor of Construction for the Infonavit, as Head of Department of Supervision of Works for the SEP, and as Deputy Director of General Services for Conade.
