Professor Mario Alberto Romero Romo is a Metallurgical Chemical Engineer from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) and Ph.D. in Technology of Materials, specialty in Materials Engineering, Electrochemistry from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom.

He is currently a Full-Time Professor within the Department of Materials of the Division of Basic Sciences and Engineering of the Azcapotzalco Campus of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM), where he has served as Coordinator of Studies of Graduate Science and Engineering, DCBI Graduate Adjunct Coordinator and Director of the Division of Basic Sciences and Engineering.
