Dr. Estela Maldonado Pérez is a French professor at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Iztapalapa Campus, she has worked at the UAM since 1990.

She graduated in French studies from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), and has a master's degree in education policies from CINVESTAV and a Ph degree in Sociology from UAM Azcapotzalco Campus.

Professor Maldonado likes to teach foreign languages, enjoys reading, and writes about her education experience from a sociological point of view. She considers herself a proactive teacher who tries to give solutions and strategies to her students that can help them improve their work methods. She structures her lessons according to her students needs and difficulties.

She belongs to groups of researchers, both national and international because she believes that knowledge is a process that builds a dialogue among equals and promotes the search for answers to new problems.
