Professor Jesús Álvarez Calderón is a Full-Time Professor assigned to the Department of Process Engineering and Hydraulics of the Basic Sciences and Engineering Division of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Iztapalapa Campus.

He has a Ph.D. (1977-1982) from the University of Minnesota. He was appointed distinguished professor at the UAM in 2008.
