Profile
Professor Verónica Medina Bañuelos received her B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM), Mexico in 1980 and 1987, respectively, and her Ph.D. degree from the Université de Technologie de Compiègne, France, in 1991, all of them in Biomedical Engineering.
For 35 years, she has been a member of the Neuroimaging Laboratory at the Department of Electrical Engineering, UAM Iztapalapa Campus.
Her research interests include pattern recognition applied to medical imaging and physiological signal analysis, mainly focused on brain studies.
She has published more than 50 refereed articles in internationally recognized scientific journals and proceedings.
She has held several coordination positions in various academic programs and was Director of the Division of Basic Sciences and Engineering at UAM Iztapalapa Campus. She is an active member of the Mexican Society of Biomedical Engineering, the Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society of the IEEE, and the International Society for Optical Engineering.
She has published over 50 refereed articles in recognized scientific journals and proceedings.
She has was director of the Basic Sciences and Engineering Division at the UAM Iztapalapa Campus. She is an active member of the Mexican Society of Biomedical Engineering, the Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society of the IEEE, and the International Society for Optical Engineering.
