Profile
Professor Carlos Alberto Mercado Limones has a degree in Architecture and graduated from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Xochimilco Campus; he has a master's in architecture, restoration of monuments, by the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) with the thesis: Restoration of the old hostel in Tenancingo Edo. of Mex. Restoration of architectures of Adobe; and Doctor in Architecture, by UNAM with the thesis: From Meshico to Méjico. Foundation and permanence of the urban design of Mexico Tenochtitlán in the urban trace of Mexico City.
He is a professor from the Department of Theory and Analysis of the Division of Science and Arts for Design at the UAM, Xochimilco Campus. He has participated in eight academic commissions responsible for developing plans and programs for the degree in architecture and the master's degree in the reuse of edified heritage.
Director of 19 ICR at the master's level in the UAM Xochimilco Campus. Reader (Sinodal) of 9 Theses in the Encrym.
Researcher in the area of Research Conservation and reuse of the edified heritage in the lines of research: Generation of theoretical foundations for the assessment and reuse of the educated heritage. Documentation and analysis of urban-architectural heritage.
Within his disciplinary area there are: theory and history of the conservation and reuse of the architectural heritage in Mexico. With eight investigations recorded and approved by the Divisional Council of Cyad; Member of the Mexican Network for Studies of Spaces and Funeral Culture A.C. and from the Ibero-American Network for Assessment and Management of Patrimonial Cemeteries; Participation as a rapporteur in 63 congresses, national and international symposiums and meetings related to the conservation and reuse of the edified heritage; Author of 32 articles on the reuse and conservation of material and intangible cultural heritage, published in the same number of books or magazines; Participation in seven national and international exhibitions with photographs and paintings.
He has been interim chief of the theory and analysis department in the university. Appointment from September 7, 1992 to February 15, 1993; Head of the Research Area of the Theory and Analysis Department: Design in Social Relations for Production, from 1993 to 1996. Head of the Research Area: Theoretical and Historical Processes of Architecture and Urbanism, from 2000 to 2003; Academic Secretary of the Science and Arts Division for the design of the Xochimilco Campus of the UAM, from March 24, 2003 to March 14 2007; and coordinator of the Master's degree in the reuse of the edified heritage, appointed on September 12, 2011, even valid.
