Profile

Professor Nery Esperanza Cuevas Ocampo studied psychology, and subsequently, she was interested in the interdisciplinary field of psychology and education. She studied a master's degree in educational development and has specialized in the field of psychological development and socialization.

She researches the topic "Changes of power in the family group" with a special interest in parenthood and family view as a transmitting instance of sociocultural heritage.

She has published various articles on the family and the training of the psychologist in intervention, including Abuelas sin nietos, Los caminos de la identidad y la posverdad, El observador externo en la objetividad, Pensar en la intervención en crisis: una propuesta desde intervenciones postdesastres naturales de Chile y México, Los mapas de la identidad: de viajes y errancias, Sentidos y sinsentidos de la familia, Todo queda en familia, Hijos del porvenir, among others.

She has participated in colloquia and congresses with the presentations: there was once a child ..., the flight of Icarus, migrant children and future project, the dirty clothes are washed at home, the paths of identity, the external observer in the Objectivity, intervention in crisis against seismic events, history of psychology and intervention. She has organized colloquies and round tables, participated in updating seminars and has conducted interviews with families, about aging and also about inflection points in their family life.
