Profile

Dr. Jorge Joel Reyes Méndez has worked since 1981 as a Professor assigned to the Department of Health Service of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Xochimilco Campus. He studied a Doctorate in Education by the Université de Montréal (Ph.D.), Québec, Canada; Certificate in College Teaching, Graduate College & University Teaching Center, University of Arizona, Tucson, USA; Specialist in Environmental Engineering by the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign); Master in Pedagogy from the Faculty of Philosophy and Literature of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM); and biologist (BSC) by the Faculty of Sciences of the UNAM.

He is currently a visiting professor at the Information and Technology Services of the University of Toronto.

In the continuous education coordination of the UAM Xochimilco Campus, he is a pedagogical advisor. Consultant in E-Learning and in Implementation of Information Systems for the Toronto Advance Professional Education (Tape) and Excellera International, Inc. Canada, July 2003 to December 2012

Online Tutor of the Lesley University Technology In Education Online Masters Degree Program, Boston, MA, from February 2005 to June 2011; Doctoral Fellowship at the Resource Center for Academic Technology and Education Innovation Laboratory (Faculty of Medicine) of the University of Toronto, from September 2002 to December 2003.

Guest Professor at the Faculté des Sciences of L'Éducation de l'Université de Montréal, from January to June 2004; Online guardian of the diploma in tutors training for virtual and remote education of the UAM Xochimilco Campus; Representative of the UAM in the Academic Committee of the Common Space of Higher Education (ECOESAD); Member of the Editorial Committee of the Biochemical Education Journal (REB) from February 2002 to December 2013.

He is part of the Academic Network Member of plagiarismadvice.org.

Participation as a speaker in 114 national and international specialized events on computing, education, and educational technology. He has taught 52 guest conferences, was a Master lecturer in 32 congresses and seminars, and 92 courses taught at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels as responsible or owner. He has 41 specialized publishing articles, book chapters, extended memories, and published books; and has elaborated 32 computer and multimedia programs.
