Professor Fausto Jorge Sánchez y García Figueroa is a Zootechnical Veterinary Doctor (1975) from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and a Doctor in Animal Science from the "Institut National Polytechnique" of Toulouse in France (1980). His doctoral thesis on genetic improvement of goats was carried out at the "Station d'Amélioration Génétique des Animaux" of the "Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique" in Toulouse, France.

Founding professor of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana Xochimilco Campus, where he works since October 1974, he has been in charge of students of the Common Core, the Divisional Core of Biological and Health Sciences, the Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics studies Core, and the Master of Science Agricultural. He was Administrator of Rancho Santa Elena (1985), Head of the Department of Agricultural and Animal Production (1986-1990), and President of the Judging Commission of Biological Sciences (1994-1995). He has also been a professor of the Master in Animal Production at the Cuautitlán School of Higher Studies, and of the Postgraduate Program of the Faculties of Agricultural Biological Sciences and Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics of the University of Colima.

He has participated in advising on 15 Master's theses and 15 Ph.D. theses. He has also advised thesis and social service projects and participated in the development of study programs for the Bachelor's Degree in Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics and the plan and Study Programs for the Master's Degree in Agricultural Sciences of the UAM-X.
He is the author of more than 20 articles with arbitration, four book sections, a compilation of two books, and more than 100 papers published in conference proceedings. Professor, lecturer, and jury on multiple occasions. His publications include:
