Professor Demetrio Pérez Aguilera has a Bachelor in Engineering in Communications and Electronics from the Instituto Politécnico Nacional at the School of Mechanical and Electric Engineering, Professional Unit Zacatenco, Mexico City, and the Master's of Sciences and Arts for Design by the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Xochimilco Campus.

He belongs to the Department of Health Care of the Biological Sciences and Health Division of the UAM, Xochimilco Campus. His research lines are museography, distance education, and information technologies.
