Profile

Professor Walter Butze Aguilar conducted undergraduate studies at the National School of Economics at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) (1965-1969); he studied the doctorate in environmental law at the University of Alicante in Spain (2001-2003), obtaining the certification of investigative sufficiency, and the certificate-diploma of advanced studies in environmental law.

In the field of teaching, he has given classes since 1980 at the undergraduate level in economics, administration and engineering careers. He is currently a Professor in the Department of Economics of the Social Sciences and Humanities Division of the Azcapotzalco Campus at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM). He also held the position of Chief of Research and Environment Research of the Department of Economy of the UAM Azcapotzalco Campus from June 2003 to March 2006.

Individually, he has developed the Research Project linked to sustainable development, with registration 676 of the Azcapotzalco Campus: Economic assessment of the environmental impact of wastewater on the cellulose industry and its role in Mexico City.

Project from which three specialized research articles were published:
2002. "Economic assessment of the environmental impact of wastewater from the cellulose industry and paper in Mexico".
2004. "Current situation and water prospects in Mexico".
2008 "The problem of water in the metropolitan area of ​​Mexico City". In municipal governments in Mexico.

Likewise, his interest in issues related to the global warming of the atmosphere and the consequent climate change on Earth, has led him to investigate the various aspects that affect these phenomena. For this reason, he has presented and published various specialized research articles. Such as:
2019. "The initiatives of multilateral cooperation in the face of climate change raised at the 25th Conference of the Parties (COP25) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change" at the XIII International Economy Seminar "UAM Azcapotzalco Campus.
