Profile
Professor Ángel Manzur Guzmán studied for a degree in Physics at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and a Phd at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM).
He is currently a Professor of the UAM Iztapalapa Campus, in the Department of Physics. His research is in the field of macromolecule physicochemical. He has extensive experience teaching physics at the college level. He has been interested in finding ways that motivate students to improve their performance in the study of this science.
Author of the book Steps to solve problems. Examples of elemental mechanics, edited by Plaza y Valdés and the UAM; Winning work in the Textbook and Teaching Material Development Contest called by the Iztapalapa Unit UAM. His outstanding activity in teaching earned him the First Prize for Teaching awarded by the UAM.
His main polymers research and their objectives are (a) Polymer Blends. To get improved mechanical properties by (through) strain-induced crystallization. (b) Biodegradability. Modification of Physico-chemical characteristics of non-biodegradable polymers in order to convert them into biodegradable ones. (c) Double Yield Phenomenon. Study of the mechanisms of this phenomenon that appear in semicrystalline polymers.
