Professor Jaime Matus Parada is a professor at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) with a degree in biology, a master's and a doctorate in pedagogy, and various diplomas and masters in applied ecology, sustainable development, environmental planning, and environmental management.

With professional experience in territorial planning by carrying out ecological regulations on the coast of the State of Nayarit, the coast of Oaxaca, the coast and mountains of Guerrero, and Mexico City and the State of Mexico.

Professor Matus has also participated in sustainable production projects in the aquaculture sector in the State of Morelos and fishing activities in the States of Campeche, Veracruz, and Guerrero. He has also contributed to various forest conservation works in temperate forests, mangroves, and coastal lagoons. He also worked in the investigative work on the systems and mechanisms of the universities that facilitate the flow of knowledge to low-income communities and organizations.

The teaching work of professor Matus has concentrated on learning professional activities such as ecological diagnosis, systemic thinking, inductive explanation, decision-making, and environmental planning.

He has participated in and coordinated various articles and books on practical training and the application of knowledge in higher education and articles on decision-making in natural resource management.

He is currently responsible for a research project on sustainable professional training and the role of science and technology in sustainable development.
