Professor Enrique Mendieta Márquez has a bachelor's in Biology and a Master's in Experimental Biology by the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Iztapalapa Campus. He is currently a professor in the Health Sciences Department at UAM and a part-time teacher at FES-Zaragoza from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM); he is also a member of the Sustainable Productive Development group, formed by researchers from several UAM Campuses.

He has participated in short courses at different levels and institutions as a professor. He has been a member of interdisciplinary groups meant to design problem-solving strategies for the public sector.

Has published research and divulgation articles on subjects regarding Reproductive Biology and Sustainable Productive Development and different education themes, mainly oriented towards the importance of sustainability and bioethics as part of the curricula for university students.
