Profile
Dr. Enrique Gaona has a Bachelor's in Physics from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), a specialty in applied statistics (UNAM), a master's degree in nuclear science (UNAM), Master's Studies in Medical Physics (UAEM) and Doctorate by the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN).
He has participated in courses abroad in various periods of Physical dosimetry in radiotherapy, clinical dosimetry and radiological protection, dosimetry and calibration in high-rate brachytherapy, quality control in radiology and mammography, guarantee of quality and dosimetry in clinical radiotherapy, Internal dosimetry in radionuclide therapy and dental radiology.
He has been responsible for accrediting and approving radiotherapy audits carried out by the Radiological Physics Center of the MD Anderson Hospital, Houston, Texas (1995-1996) and the National Institute of Cancerology.
Scientific advisor in diverse periods on design and construction of cancerology state centers and radiology facilities, nuclear medicine and radiotherapy, in radiological and medical physics with the civil hospitals of Guadalajara and the Secretariats of Health of the States of Colima, Tamaulipas, Jalisco, Durango, and Yucatán.
He has been an Advisor and has had training in medical physics to countries in Latin America, sponsored by IAEA and PAHO.
He has the following distinctions:
Diploma for the unconditional contribution to the development and improvement of medical physics in Latin America and the Caribbean, 2001 Latin American Medical Physics Association in Caracas, Venezuela.

Professor Gaona has published 33 articles, four books, and 122 works presented at congresses and academic events.
