Professor Enrique Luis Hernández Matos is a Full-Time Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering of the Division of Basic Sciences and Engineering of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Iztapalapa Campus.

He graduated from the School of Engineering of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) as an Electrical Mechanical Engineer with a major in Control, Communications and Electronics (1968-1973). He obtained the degree of Diplom Ingenieur (equivalent to Master of Science) at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Technical University of Karlsruhe, in the Federal Republic of Germany (1973-1976). He joined the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Iztapalapa Campus in March 1977.

He has held the following institutional positions:

Coordinator of the Biomedical Engineering Degree (1980-1981),
Coordinator of the Electronics Teaching Laboratories (1981-1982),
Coordinator of the Master's Degree in Biomedical Engineering (1983-1986),
Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering (1989-1993).
Head of the Biomedical Engineering Department (1997-2005).
