Doctor Paz Sastre Domínguez (Madrid, 1975) is a Professor in the Department of Arts and Humanities at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) Lerma Campus. She coordinates the Academic Group of Art, Science, and Technology Studies and is a member of the homonymous Research Area created in 2018.

She holds a degree in Philosophy from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and a Ph.D. in Communication from the Universidad Complutense in the same city. She has, since 2015, the Desirable Profile, recognition for teaching work granted by the Mexican Ministry of Education.

From the perspective of visual studies, critical studies, and media archeology, she analyzes issues related to digital culture, media art, and technopolitics. Her work is available online and has been presented in various national and international forums, including Creative Commons Summit, Festival de Artes Electrónicas y Video Transitio_MX, Open Engagement Conference, Medialab-Prado, World Archaeology Congress, International Symposium on Electronic Art, Conference on The Inclusive Museum, Encuentro Iberoamericano de Innovación Ciudadana.

She is a juror and tutor of the National System of Art Creators of the National Fund for Culture and the Arts, a member of the scientific association ICONO14 and the Network of Digital Humanities, and a founding member of the Network of Educational Innovation and Technological Appropriation (Lerma Campus of the UAM).

In addition to her academic work, she coordinated the Procomún Mexico Lab from 2009 to 2016 and has participated in several independent projects such as "La Mediateca: empowerment of the Huichol Indigenous People through digital technologies applied to the management rescue of their cultural and natural heritage for sustainable development" with Conservación Humana A.C. and the project "Memora, Reactivando el archivo de Ana Victoria Jiménez. Art, memory and feminist militancy in Mexico (1970-1990)" together with Monica Mayer, Karen Cordero and Deborah Dorotinsky.

She is currently working on the cataloging of the forms of access of the present (http://
dpya.org) and on the recovery of manifestos of the network society on which she published in 2021 the compilation Manifiestos sobre el arte y la red 1990-1999 (EXIT).
