Profile

Professor Alma Elena Ibarra Cazáres holds a Bachelor's degree in QFB from the Xochimilco campus of UAM, a Master's degree in Chemical Sciences (Bio-pharmacy) from the Faculty of Chemistry at UNAM, and is about to obtain her Doctorate in Basic Biomedical Sciences from the Faculty of Medicine at UASLP.

Her experience spans various fields, including the Pharmaceutical Chemical Industry, Third Parties Authorized in Bio-pharmaceutical studies, and over 17 years of university teaching at the Xochimilco campus of UAM and at FES Zaragoza of UNAM. For 5 years, she was in charge of the Clinical Pharmacology course in the Master's program in Health Sciences at IMSS-IPN, and has over 13 years of experience as a Full Professor of the Pharmacovigilance Module in the Diploma in Pharmacology and Ocular Therapeutics FES-I, UNAM.

Additionally, she has participated as a speaker in the Clinical Pharmacology Diploma of UAM, as well as in research related to pharmaceutical care and services, bio-pharmaceutical studies, analysis of raw materials and medicines quality. She has been Ex-President and current collaborator of the Third Parties Authorized Commission of CNQFB and participant in projects such as the National Hospital Pharmacy Model and the development of certificates to accredit study plans and programs in Pharmacy.

In her role as titular representative of UAM in the National Advisory Committee on Standardization, Regulation, and Health Promotion, she has significantly contributed to the development and regulation of the pharmaceutical sector. Furthermore, she stands out for her work in the training of human resources in undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as for her participation in topics such as pharmacovigilance, technovigilance, pharmacotherapeutic monitoring, quality management systems, and pharmaceutical education.

Recently, she has been involved in the training of pharmacists in emerging areas such as pharmacopotentiation and non-sterile oral and topical magistral formulations. She has also coordinated the development of the syllabus for the optional module of Pharmacoepidemiology, pharmaceutical care, and services, and collaborated in the writing of chapters on pharmaceutical services in the textbook of CNQFB Mexico.

Moreover, she has been an active member of the Social Service Commission of the QFB Bachelor's degree at the Xochimilco campus of UAM for the past 10 years, and has participated in the Commission to obtain the Favorable Academic Technical Opinion by the CIFRHuS of the QFB Bachelor's degree, Xochimilco campus of UAM in 2022.
